
Born in Bulgaria, she studied at the National Music School Sofia with Svetla Slavcheva, then at the Musikakademie Basel with Jurg Wyttenbach and Krystian Zimmerman (piano) and Gerard Wyss (chamber music) and in Fribourg with Ricardo Castro. She visited masterclasses by Aldo Ciccolini, Maria-João Pires and Dominiqie Merlet.
A natural collaborator, she is greatly in demand for chamber music alliances, appearing on many national and international concert platforms in recitals and concerto performances. Her diverse career begins truly international, as she continues to captivate audiences in Switzerland, Gemany and Bulgaria with her poetic musicality and engaging personality. She was soloist of the Prague Chamber Orchestra. Elitza was was finalist of the Yamaha Competition in Switzerland. She gives many recitals and solo concerts, inkl. Basler Chopin Tage and the 4. Munich Klavierpodium of the Youth in Germany. She gave also concerts at Steinway House in Bern, Switzerland. In addition to her busy career as a performer, she is teaching the young pianists at Kantonalen Fachmittelschule Fribourg.
Elitza has recorded contemporary bulgarian music for the Bulgarian National Radio.
In the concert season 2009 Elitza Djambazova will live and work in the USA. Her current and future plans include duo performances with Jessica Mathaes (concertmaster of Austin Symphony Orchestra) as well as solo recitals in Austin (USA), Sao Paulo (Brasil) and Sofia (Bulgaria) and musical collaboration with Im-Pulse.Eurythmy USA.
